Red Butler is on the road, traveling all across America. We are meeting small businesses throughout the USA and visiting sites unique to our country. We will post highlights here to enjoy and share.

Niagra Falls is the largest waterfall in the Northern Hemisphere.  If you plan on visiting Niagra Falls, you can find nearby accommodations if you are camping (about 15 miles away), or at hotels along the banks of the river. Parking is abundant (and free in some lots if you are at staying at the State Park). There is a lot to do, and you can choose to hike on your own or take guided tours.  Hiking is free, and the Falls can be viewed from multiple vantage points.  The iconic Maid of the Mist is a lot of fun if you want to get up close to the Falls to hear the thunder and feel the cool mist. No matter what you decide to do, your day in America’s oldest state park will be a memorable one.

We traveled through Pennsylvania this last week, and found a beautiful stretch of road not to be missed if you are traveling in this area.  Along the northern border of Pennsylvania and New York lies a beautiful wine region, Lake Erie wine country, nestled in along the bank of Lake Erie.  It is the largest grape-growing region east of the Rockies. There are about 20 wineries within a 10 mile area, and wine has been produced here since the mid-1970’s.  The award winning wines are well with the stop.

This week Red Butler is in beautiful Kentucky, home of the World Heritage and National Park site Mammoth Cave.  Mammoth Cave is the world's longest cave system, with over 400 miles of explored and an estimated 600 miles of unexplored cave.  It is a fantastic place to visit, and they offer 12 tours to choose from depending on how adventurous you want to get.
